The Chinese Community Center (CCC) is a resource center for the members of the Chinese American community and those who are interested in Chinese culture and language. The mission of the CCC is to foster and enhance the sense of friendship and unity among its community through the cultural and educational programs that we offer and through community service. The goals of our organization are:

  • To promote understanding and appreciation of the Chinese heritage that is unique, defining, and precious.
  • To help and encourage our members to integrate and assimilate with mainstream culture.
  • To actively participate in community service and become an integral part of the Capital District's constituency makeup.

History of CCC

Chinese Community Center of Capital District of New York (CCC) is a not-for-profit organization started by sixteen families in 1974. Membership is open to anyone interested in Chinese language and culture.

The membership has grown to over 1000 families and individuals in 30 years. The organization includes a language school, folk dance groups, playhouse, chorus, and sports groups. CCC serves a population of 4500 (2000 census) Chinese Americans and the general public in the Albany area.

Groups of CCC volunteers have donated their time and services at regional food bank, Literacy Volunteers of America, WMHT TV auctions, and as guests in grade school social study classes.
